LINK Advocaten complements its national practice with an international service. We promote the interests of foreign clients living in The Netherlands (expats) and we assist Dutch clients when confronted with international aspects during their family-law (divorce proceedings, spousal maintenance, parental access, custudy etc. etc.) dispute. We also advise foreign lawyers about the content of Dutch family law and procedures. In addition, we run an extensive network of foreign law firms which also specialise in family law, in case information is needed about the content of foreign law.

We can advise you in person and in writing in English, French and German. We also conduct mediations in these languages: Alexandra Morot and Chantal van Baalen in English, Alexandra Morot in French and Alexander Leuftink in German.

Clients who are living abroad and find it hard to come over to the Netherlands for a personal meeting can be assisted via Skype, also in mediation.

LINK Advocaten boasts broad experience in private international law. The disadvantage of this branch of law is that a case can become legally complex if foreign law applies, and the court has to be advised of this in order to be able to make the right decision. However, there are advantages as well: when several courts have jurisdiction over a dispute or when there is a choice between the application of Dutch law or foreign law, we can determine the most favourable option in consultation with you. Given our broad experience and our extensive network of foreign law firms, we can give valuable advice as to whether it is recommended to initiate a lawsuit in The Netherlands or abroad.
